True, you may still wear a jersey in a cute way that shows your team spirit. Here I will show you the best ways to dress up a sports styling jersey, as well as some suggestions for outfits you might wear. You’ll find some great outfit ideas in this post, which features a wide range of sportswear such as football, baseball, hockey, and basketball jerseys. Along the way, I’ll be spotlighting some of my favorite finds so you can replicate the same styles in your own home. These tips are among my favorites to write since I get to combine two of my passions—sports and fashion.

Here are some suggestions for styling your favorite sports Styling jersey.

Tuck It

The majority of jerseys are made with a generous size in mind. They’re roomy because fans who watch games in freezing stadiums sometimes dress in many layers. If you don’t have access to stadium seats to watch the Super Bowl, the additional weight may seem like baggage.

By tucking it loosely into the pants on one side, “so that it flows and discreetly creates a waist,” as Freeman describes, you can give dimension to a simple tee. A denim or leather miniskirt in place of pants and knee-high boots in place of shoes would give him “a good dose of femininity with minimal effort,” as he put it.

Spruce Up Your Outfit with Some Leather Accents

Freeman argues that “people frequently underestimate the power of a quality leather jacket — especially a biker jacket” over a jersey. Freeman says that the combination is “comfortable yet fashionable” when worn with well-fitting narrow jeans, delicate jewelry, and standout shoes.

Fashion expert and stylist Naina Singla describes “a pop of leather” as a pair of high-waisted leather pants.

They’re on-trend, plus they add depth and complexity to your outfit.

Singla tells that this combination “may rapidly boost your look.” Try this style by wearing a puffer coat, white sneakers, and leather pants with a jersey tucked into the waistband. This outfit is perfect for a night out with friends to watch the game over cocktails (or mocktails), since it combines a sporting vibe with a chic aesthetic.

Put an end to underwear forever.

Strip off your slacks and reinvent your jersey top as a cute mini dress. Freeman claims that a jersey may be worn as a temporary fashion statement, “reminiscent” of the common Y2K trend, “whether belted or adjusted to constrain the waist.” To round off the retro sporty look, Freeman suggests donning a pair of low or high-top shoes, a cluster bracelet, hoop earrings, some chunky rings, and an anklet over a pair of socks.

Cut It

Outfit with Some Leather

Kiya Tomlin, a stylist, and fashion designer tells that proportions are crucial when accessorizing a football Styling jersey.

Tomlin says she achieves an effortlessly chic look by “slicing it through the numbers and putting it over a tight tank that shows off my waist,” referring to her jerseys. To round off her look, Tomlin pairs her jersey with voluminous pants like these Bag Pants, a jogger, or these Pleated Maxi Pants and tops it all off with a chic designer hat. The larger top and bottom are balanced by the attention on my waist in this.

Pick leggings instead than pants.

Tomlin tells that she likes to wear an oversized jersey as a tunic over her favorite leggings and then finish the look with over-the-knee stiletto shoes.

Tomlin explains, “I can balance the ‘boxy’ side of the jersey and make it sensuous by wearing fitted bottoms and boots.” Next, I throw on a baseball cap to further emphasize the gender-bending ensemble.

Elevate to a Higher Level

Stylist Allie McKenna suggests dressing in layers if you plan to do any outside tailgating before the big game.

McKenna reveals that he enjoys wearing “a corresponding team color turtleneck underneath the jersey (for comfort and fashion) paired with ’90s-style jeans” (his favorite pair are the Agolde 90s), white socks, and New Balance 550s on the chillier side of things. Get a cashmere hat, gloves, and scarf in addition to a heavy coat, and you’ll be all prepared for the cold weather.
